Abstract

Agribusiness is a business that is vulnerable to risk, because its commodities are
easily damaged. Therefore, a tracking system is needed to ensure the commodity is well
received by consumers. Some technologies applied to help traceability include RFID, IoT
and blockchain technology. In supply chain management, blockchain technology allows
business people to trace the supply chain of their products, so they can control the quality
of the agribusiness commodity. This study discusses the development of agribusiness
supply chain management using blockchain technology in Indonesia. This study uses
qualitative approach with in-depth interview with the informants (Chairman of the
Farmers Group Association, Agribusiness Players, and Agribusiness Product Consume rs)
and also secondary data collecting. This research focuses on vegetable and fruit
agribusiness commodities. The results show that construction of the agribusiness
commodity business model consists of blockchain users, blockchain developers, network
operators, traditional processing platforms, traditional data sources, certificate authorities.
The application of blockchain technology can help reduce business risk. Blockchain
technology reduces the amount supplied or players in one supply chain process. This is
the importance of blockchain technology in improving agribusiness supply chain
management. However, in applying this, the readiness to apply technology and the
behaviour of individual stakeholders is very supportive towards the application of
blockchain technology.
