A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY ON KEY MOTIVATIONS AND CHALLENGES OF WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS IN INDIA
Abstract
Women are no longer well thought as the part of four walls today. Those days are gone but today they believe in
the power of communities led by women and likewise those who mentor them.
Entrepreneurship led by women in our country is on the increase but they are because of many motivational
factors and challenges faced by them. The present study focuses on the points that they have to take risk like
market problem being assessed wrong, change in technology usage or needs of customers changed and their
preferences too. Because of this risk element being involved till recently entrepreneurship remained as man’s
ground. These women were taken as contributors to the income of the family comparatively than true
entrepreneurs.
The sixth Economic Census has brought out through the Ministry of Statistics that women are around 14% of the
total number of entrepreneur base in our country that is 8.05 million out of 58.5 million. There are many in them
who are not intentionally entrepreneurs and some others are because of some specific goal or objective. The main
purpose of the study is to opinion through the survey conducted on 220 women who are running business all over
the country. The study concludes with the statement that women are more powerful and successful
