Development Of Road Network Under PMGSY Scheme -A Case Study
Abstract
Basing upon different journals and study cases, it is found that transportation is not only about movement within urban areas it also focuses over the rural areas, it is not only about movement from one point to another but also with that of ease of connection from one point to another. It should hold a network of connectivity to make the movement smooth and flow of traffic in an easy manner. In urban areas the roads are quite connected and have a proper flow but the situations drastically change when it comes to rural areas, so the government of India came with a plan of connectivity or linkage of roads within the interior parts of rural areas. So there developed a plan called “PRADHAN MANTRI GRAMIN SADAK YOJANA”. According to this yojana the each village has to be connected with that of an existing main road like NH, SH or DISTRICT ROADS. There by only the network is formed and connectivity is done for better flow of traffic within the interior parts too. And each year the network is enlarged so there is this study to mark out the growth of PMGSY road development in between the years. So it be may be observed that which places are connected and which places are still there to be connected.
