Abstract

This study is focused on analyzing the researches of faculty members of DMMMSU-SLUC, specifically describing the profile as to academic rank, gender, field of specialization and research capability as to research type, research design, data gathering tool and statistical tool. Also, on determining the relationship between the profile, and research capabilities of faculty members. Descriptive and correlational research design was utilized wherein accomplished researches of faculty members in the last seven years from 2013 to 2019 were considered. Comprehensive analysis of data gathered were undertaken which comprises, descriptive statistics and F-linearity to find relationship among profile, and research capabilities of faculty members. These statistical tools were used to process data collected and managed using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). Results showed that field of specialization of faculty members is related significantly positive to their skills on data gathering tool. However, sex is also related significantly to the skills of faculty members on research design and statistical treatment, but negatively, which shows that female is better of choosing research design and statistical tool. It disclosed, that field of specialization is a predictor on the skills of faculty members in determining suitable data gathering tool. Consequently, field of specialization has a 13.1 percent contributory factor on data gathering capability of faculty members. Furthermore, field of specialization on data gathering tool capability of faculty members, is linearly shown as, data gathering tool capability (DGTC) = 0.362[FS(1-11)] + 5.876.
