Monopole Broadband Paper Antenna using Split Ring Resonator for Wireless Applications
Abstract
A monopole broadband antenna over a flexible paper substrate is presented. Split ring resonators are employed in enhancing broadband characteristics. The antenna uses Kodak UP Photopaper as the substrate with dielectric constant 3.3 and thickness 250 µm. The overall dimension of the antenna is 36 x 24 mm2. Parametric studies have been carried out to characterise the design concept. The antenna serves as a low cost, low profile, flexible, organic, broadband sensor resonating from 1.88 GHz to 3.23 GHz, acquiring a 10-dB bandwidth of 1350 MHz, with good impedance matching and uniform magnetic distribution over the entire band.
