Abstract

For observing large area Mobile sensor networks (MSNs) are used. The observing areas are complex having dense obstacles and adverse conditions. The nodes in mobile sensor networks are less in number and covers more area as compared to static area network. The mobile nodes are in motion for covering large area.MSNs require dynamic coverage algorithms for this purpose. In literature various algorithms inspired by natural behavior like ants, spiders, tigers and birds were proposed colony were proposed but  they are not conformable for dynamic coverage and were not providing effective coverage and connectivity and leaves uncovered areas. So we have proposed modifications in existing flocking and anti flocking algorithms. In this paper, we have improved the distributed anti flocking algorithm for tracking objects and improved coverage of MSNs for no obstacle and dense obstacle condition. It is observed that the modified algorithm converges by 0.73 times faster than previous algorithms and covers the desired area.
