Synthesis, Spectral characterization and Biological properties of Some Cu(II) Complexes with Schiff bases
Abstract
The Cu(II) complexes of Schiff bases ligand derived from 2-Formalpyridine and 6-methyl-2-formal pyridine with various aliphatic amine have been synthesized. These complexes have been characterized by FTIR spectra, electronic spectra and E.S.R. spectra. The Cu(II) complexes have exceptional consideration because of their active part in metalloenzymes and as biomimetic model compounds due to their closeness to natural protein and enzymes. These compounds have very importance in pharmaceutical fields because of their wide spectrum of biological activities. The antimicrobial activity data show that the metal complexes are more active than the ligands.
