WAVES AT THE BOUNDARY SURFACE OF TANSVERSELY VISCOTHERMOELASTIC SLAB BETWEEN TWO ELASTIC MEDIA

Abstract

The main purpose of the present manuscript is focused on the propagation of waves in a transversely isotropic solid layer having magneto-viscothermoelastic properties between two distinct semi-infinite elastic half-spaces with combined effects of two temperature, rotation, and Hall current in the context of Type-II and Type-III [1]. It is assumed that the transversely isotropic magneto-viscothermoelastic sandwiched layer is a homogeneous solid slab of uniform thickness. A plane(longitudinal) or (transverse)-wave incident at the interface between two distinct semi-infinite elastic solids. Various reflected and refracted wave amplitude ratios are determined by using appropriate boundary conditions at the interface as defined as a medium  in the figure. The amplitude ratios of different reflected and transmitted waves are the functions of the angle of incidence, frequency, two temperature, magnetic hall current, and viscothermoelastic properties of the media and their graphical behavior are presented corresponding to the angle of incidence from  to  for some special cases related to the present investigation.
