A STUDY ON EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE OF TEACHERS WITH REFERENCE TO SELECTED COLLEGES

Abstract

The term emotional intelligence refers to the ability to perceive, control and evaluate emotions. Emotional intelligence provides creative thinking and helps in use of emotions for solving problems encountered. The person who is emotionally intelligent will be Identifying emotions, understanding emotions and using emotions in order to solve various hurdles at work place. It is understood that emotional intelligence of a person plays an important role in all sectors. Emotions are very crucial in case of teaching field where teachers are facing lot of troubles in balancing work and life. Therefore, the present paper is an attempt to study the emotional intelligence of teachers who are working in colleges. The study is to understand the level of emotional intelligence and also to study the factors of emotional intelligence.
