ENCOMPASSING THE PROLIFIC LITERATURE ON COMPUTER-ASSISTED TOMOGRAPHY PUBLISHED FROM 1974 – 2019
Abstract
Aim of the research: To check the frequency of yearly publications, types of documents, language and citations, and affiliation of the first author towards their country, produced in journals indexed enlisted to Scopus-Elsevier database from 1974 - 2019.
Methods/Approach: The research material on computer-assisted-tomography downloaded from the Scopus-Elsevier database from 1974 - 2019 in coma-separated value (CSV) with note-paid file to tabulate in MS Excel for scrutiny. The types, quantity, and the language of documents with total authors. Top-cited papers and affiliation of first authors with their countries set as objectives.
Results: A total of 379 documents on ten categories were published in ten languages by 1334 authors affiliated with 52 countries on the subject of computer-assisted tomography. Majority 268; 70.7% documents existing on article format, followed by erratum and conference papers. The majority of 288 documents were written in the English language, followed by German, French, and Italian. The Bulk of 305; 80.4% documents written in collaboration, and 74; 19.5% by single or solo authors. Ten documents got above 100 citations randomly. Total 153; 40.3% of documents published in 6 places, and the remaining 226; 59.6% of documents published in 373 locations. 341; 90% of documents present and posted by fourteen countries, reaming 38; 10% of documents published by 38 countries out of 52 countries.
Conclusion: This study reflects that the importance of computer-assisted tomography in this era of cutting-edge technologies changed the healthcare system's shape to save humankind from severe diseases.
