An Assessment On The Water Quality Of Different Refilling Stations In Catarman, Northern Samar
Abstract
Water quality test is focused to determine if the water sample is conformed to a set standard- The Philippine National Standard for Drinking Water. The water parameters discussed are its physical properties, mineral content and bacterial analysis. The water samples, after the collection, was tested to identify the color, odor, pH, salinity, temperature, calcium content, magnesium content, sodium content, potassium content and the coliform count. Results should that all water sample conformed to the set standard by the PNSDW. However, bacterial analysis showed that there are sampling site that are not allowable for drinking consumption. It may be the effect of not changing the filter system, which can lead to the increase of the E. coli colony counts.
