Abstract

The article presents an analysis of issues in the agro-industrial complex, increasing productivity and improving the currently produced cotton pickers, as well as scientific and technical developments carried out in this direction. The main factors influencing the technological process are considered - characteristics and criteria for assessing the adaptability of different varieties of cotton to machine harvesting, the trajectory of the spindle axis, theoretical determination of the width of the entrance of the cotton picker. Criteria for assessing the adaptability of cotton to machine harvesting by vertical-spindle harvesting machines are given for the study: by the width of the cotton bush, the height of the lower boll, and the dimensional characteristics of green and opened bolls. It also provides a study of the degree of processing by spindles of a row of cotton bushes, the possibility of determining the number of spindles on a drum. Experimental studies by the developed criteria and given diagrams and coefficients of adaptability of various varieties of cotton to serial vertical-spindle cotton pickers by the criterion of diameters of open and unopened bolls, as well as according to the criteria of the height and width of the bush. Recommendations with modern automatic monitoring and control systems.
