Abstract

In a mobile environment, cloud computing services are provided using Mobile Cloud Computing (MCC). Combination of cloud computing and mobile computing forms MCC. Cloud computing and mobile networks elements are incorporated in MCC for providing optimum services to mobile users. In Clouds, all complicated computing modules and data are processed in MCC and powerful configurations like memory capacity, CPU speed are not needed by mobile devices. In communication and resources of mobile devices, various struggles are faced like bandwidth, storage, battery life, security, mobility and privacy. In mobile cloud computing, protection and security are the major concerns of mobile user. In a mobile environment, cloud computing service availability is provided by MCC. Various MCC security issues are studied in this paper along with vulnerabilities which affects cloud computing systems, analysis and comparison of various possible techniques developed for addressing security issue are done with their limitations and advantages. For MCC, techniques like traditional and cryptographic are studied and compared their analyses by this work. Different cryptographic techniques like asymmetric cryptosystem and symmetric cryptosystem are used.Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Data Encryption Standard (DES) are symmetric cryptosystem. Private and public key are possessed by receiver in an asymmetric cryptosystem. There will be a publication of public key and secrecy of private key is maintained. Elliptic Curve Cryptosystem (ECC), Attribute-Based Encryption (ABE), Digital Signature Algorithm (DSA) and Rivest Shamir Adleman (RSA) are the asymmetric cryptosystem representatives. In this survey paper, clear discussion and merits and demerits of various MCC methods is presented.
