Abstract

In this study, the strategic direction setting for the establishment of a startup support ecosystem in Daejeon was examined. In order to establish such a strategic direction, I analyzed regional start-up policies and start-up support programs at the central government, Daejeon, Daedeok Innopolis, and universities. The strategic directions for establishing a startup ecosystem in Daejeon are as follows. First, a new vision for fostering the startup ecosystem in Daejeon must be set. Second, the linking capabilities between universities, Daedeok Innopolis, and Daejeon must be strengthened to foster the startup ecosystem of Daejeon. Third, considering the role of universities in the innovation cluster, the university's start-up capabilities must be significantly strengthened.
