Comparison of Control Techniques for Three-Phase PWM Rectifier Based on VOC, DPC, and SMC

Abstract

This paper present a comparative study between three different control strategies applied to three phase PWM rectifier. Firstly, the mathematical model in abc and dq frame is developed , secondly the principle of Voltage Oriented Control (VOC) , Direct Power Control (DPC) and  Sliding mode control (SMC) is detailed and  explained with block schemes. Finally, the three different techniques are validated by simulation in Matlab - Simulink and their results are compared basing on several criteria  like  who obtain nearly sinusoidal input current , stabilization  of DC-link voltage ,  higher power factor, lower harmonic current ( THD below 5 %)  , and fast Dynamic response .  also we compared the THD% with the IEEE 519 Standards.
