TESTING OF RADIATOR CHARACTERISTICSTO LOAD CHANGESIN CUMMINS 6CT ENGINE AS MOVING GENERATOR 200 kW
Abstract
Radiator is a cooling system that functions as an engine protector by absorbing heat. The engine heat is generated from the combustion of the fuel in the cylinder. This heat is something that is intentionally created to produce energy, but if left unchecked it will cause overheat on the engine. To prevent this and maintain the engine working temperature, a radiator is used. How effective the radiator is used, in this study testing the ability of the radiator to release heat by operating. The research was conducted in the field by recording two temperature parameters, namely air and water. This sample is taken using a thermo gun measuring device and stopwatch. Then how to retrieve the data by giving a load of 0, 40, 80, 120, 160 kW, and record changed in temperature every 10 minute. From the results of the tests carried out, the effectiveness of the radiatoroccurred on the load 0 to 160 kW.
