Abstract

: The College of Agriculture of Cagayan State University, Piat Campus is one of the four campuses offering the Agriculture program. The conduct of this research aimed to correlate the general weighted average on professional courses and board ratings of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture graduates of 2017, Cagayan State University – Piat campus, Piat, Cagayan. This study utilized the descriptive normative survey method using documentary analysis as a technique in collecting the required data. Reference.com defines that descriptive-normative survey combines two research methods which involved the gathering of information to describe the object of study as it is, has been or is viewed, which is the descriptive method, and the critiquing of the object to identify ways to improve it, the normative method. The respondents of this study were the graduates of the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture of Cagayan State University Piat Campus who took the November 2017 Licensure Examination for Agriculturists administered by the Professional Regulation Commission. Total enumeration was employed in selecting the 59 respondents. From the above findings, the researchers conclude that the performance of the takers in the six subject areas do not affect their performance in the board exam. Moreover, complementary to their performance is the preparation of the takers before taking the board examination and that the researchers strongly recommends that strict implementation of the admission policies of the university with regard to general weighted average of the student and stringent screening of students who would be promoted to the next year level, enrichment of the curriculum and periodic review of the course contents in compliance with CHED and PRC requirements, in consultation with the subject-experts, shall be done and the administration shall send faculty members to training and seminars for updating and upgrading their own field of specialization
