Evaluation of Tensile and Flexural behaviour of Ferrocement sections
Abstract
The study reported the mechanical properties and behaviour of fibrocement section under tensile test and rectangular and tee beam for flexure test. Ferrocement is an oldest type of reinforced concrete, because it offers different behaviour than that of the standard reinforced cement concrete in strength, performance. Also, it exhibits superior in qualities like ductility, crack control and resistance to impact. Ferrocement has very high tensile strength to weight ratio to urge superior ductile material. This project presents an experimental examination of tensile strength of ferrocement in direct tension. Also, this paper presents the comparative models were developed to predict the analytical and experimental model to predict flexural strength of beam sections. The output shows the effect of number of layers on tensile and bending stresses and deformations of flexural components.
