Abstract

Due to the existence0growth in the development0of low0cost, less0weight, highly0reliable, minimal0profile antennas0for wireless0devices, it poses a new0challenge for the antenna design engineers in wireless0communications. This paper0presents design0and simulation0of a rectangular0micro strip patch antenna array at C (6 GHz) band. Proposed Microstrip0patch antenna array (MPA) is excited0using line feed0technique. The rectangular0micro strip patch antenna array was analyzed using Ansys HFSS software. This paper explains two models. One design of rectangular MPA and the second one is that, the design of rectangular microstrip patch0antenna0array for 2, 4, 8 elements. The simulated return losses obtained for model 1 are -25.96dB, obtained0VSWR (Voltage Standing0Wave Ratio) value is 1.13 and the gain value is 8.34 dB at 6GHz. The simulated return losses for antenna array 2, 4, 8 elements are -19.84dB, -19.22dB, and -19.84 dB at 6 GHz and obtained VSWR values are 1.77, 1.24 and 1.77. The obtained0VSWR values0are ?2 (ideal0case is 1). This proposed antenna is appropriate for the applications of wireless communication systems.
