Current-Fed Switched Boost Inverter Fed 5-Phase Induction Motor Drive for EV Application
Abstract
This paper proposes, by consolidating the high-boost property of ZSI and reduced passive components of SBI, new Current-Fed Switched Boost Inverter (CF-SBI). The proposed inverter utilizes just a single L-C section filter and three switches and the structure of inverter. The topology of inverter is depending upon current-fed dc/dc topology. To develop the association between the input of DC and the output of AC, and the Steady State Analysis (SSA) of an inverter is inserted. Simulations are introduced to approve the circuit of proposed inverter. In this paper CF-SBI driven 5-Phase Induction Motor (IM) drive is proposed. The Proposed CF-SBI gives capability of ride-through during sags of input voltage and also it diminishes the line harmonics; enhances the load power factor; extends the reliability of inverter; and enhances range of output voltage. The chief advantage of this proposed topology is low cost and gives input current continuously. The paper introduces the fusion of multi-phase machine and CF-SBI to convey a very low cost and significantly highly reliable adjustable speed drive (ASD) system. The paper is aimed at providing operating principle of proposed converter. Both the experimental and simulation results are substantiated that the proposed converter has a high step-up capability and are given to portray the capacity of the new proposed multi-phase ASD system.
