Shri Madhavdev's Life And Contributions : An Overall Evaluation

Abstract

The great man Shri Madhavdev was the most favourite disciple of the greatest man of Assam SrimantaSankardev. The lives of Madhavdeb and Sankardev were connected in a very profound way. It was because if Madhavdeb had not met Sankardev, then his extraordinarily organizational  and philosophical talent would have died before manifestation . Also if Sankardev would not have met Madhavdev , then his religious views would not have been promoted in a broader way amongst the people of Assam.  Both Sankardev and Madhavdevtogetherly forwarded such contributions to the Assamese community that based on which the entity of the whole community was developed.    Along with Sankardev , Madhavdev also joined the all India Bhakti Movement  where according to the idealism of human beings and with the help of his own creative talent , he gave birth to the first class devotional literary works. Keeping in mind the purpose of promoting the ideologies of Vaishnavism among the common people, Madhavdev composed many literary works which included poetry, drama, song, Bhotima, and many other theoretical books .  He not only put emphasis on tilling some beautiful instincts like love, kindness, non violence, altruism etc but also tried to spread highly spiritual knowledge among the people through his literary works. Although Madhavdev composed his literary works based on the ideologies of Sankardev , his own creativity was also recognized by the society.  Though this research paper was written  through a descriptive method after analysing about the life and contributions of Madhavdev and tried to discuss all about it but  keeping an eye on the circumference of this paper, some parts were not included.  As it seemed impossible to include everything in a limited periphery. This research paper was tried to prepare under a completely academical and well ordered vortex.
