FPGA Implementation of digital camera controller and frame capture device in VHDL

Abstract

Current Field Programmable Gate (FPGA) arrays integrate high-performance image processing technologies. Used to encrypt the FPGA digital camera frame to capture and edit images in real-time. The computer also contains an external image sensor of CMOS semiconductor, utilizing the LCD touch screen with liquid crystal. The FPGA computer also has the capability to connect to a communication system by creating an automatic interactive search (JTAG) with image storage and retrieval. Data design methods range from perception to video visualization. This work demonstrates how to build a high-definition webcam on a chip picture sensor utilizing CMOS' device. The image sensor is transferred to the I2C bus and the pixel data is transmitted to a compatible port on the display system in the SDRAM. Determines external device configuration, FPGA architecture, and sensor implementations. An interesting aspect to consider is the possibility to render the design so generic that the modules can automatically conform to various mask sizes, e.g. if a 5x5 mask is desired. Eventually, the test bench used to read / write a file system picture should be modified and enhanced to support the VGA signals and timings since this test bench is a valuable method to check the application without utilizing the board and display.
