Numerical Study of Different Roof Types in Baghdad Weather
Abstract
Decreasing the heat transfer of roof, cooling load of roof, is very important in summer for the comfort conditions . To investigate the impact of a roof type on the heat transfer and on distribution temperature in occupied zone , a three-dimensional model is made, in which a k-? (k-epsilon) model, a Semi-Implicit Method to Pressure-Linked Equations (SIMPLE) algorithm, and a two phase model are utilized to simulate the impacts of the roof type. depended on the simulation results, it is found that the roof type could be effected on heat transfer and the temperature in occupied zone . A past experimental study is conducted to verify accuracy of this numerical study , which showed validity of this numerical results. The simulation results of this study will be profitable for choosing the suitable roof type in Baghdad weather
