Effect of number of Vehicles on Performance of AODV Protocol in VANET
Abstract
The network VANET of vehicle ad-hoc, which is an intelligent transport technology (ITs) technology being a special wireless type of mobile as network of ad-hoc (MANET). The VANET network uses different standards such as IEEE 802.11p which allows communication to infrastructure (V2I) from vehicle and vehicle to another one (V2V). High node mobility is one of the challenges that the VANET network faces when routing packets from the node as source to the required node of interface. To overcome such challenge, routing protocols are used. In this paper, routing protocols in VANET network will be studied and the focus is on the type of topology-based routing protocols. In addition, the AODV protocol will be simulated in an urban environment in the case of variable node density, and the results will be matched in expressions of overhead communication and delay of end-to-end.
