Abstract

The use of traditional manufacturing techniques is limited to mainly type of the size of production process, product shape and its geometrical complexity, and we are therefore occasionally preferred to the use of advanced manufacturing processes and tools to increase the quality of the end finished products such as additive manufacturing (AM) processes and its post-processing techniques including surface quality improvement methods. Additive manufacturing process is followed by layer by layer deposition of particular material used in the AM processes so sometime AM processes is also termed as layer manufacturing methods. However, layer manufacturing methods have some difficult challenges and limitations that are typically capable of overcoming, including a low surface performance, for production the raw materials usage and physical properties. A fact that they are suited to the structure and custom nature of the component to be made gives them major competitive advantage. A number of attempts were made to improve surface performance by monitoring additive manufacture different process parameters and using various techniques of post-processing including surface quality improvement methodsto the manufactured final finished products. The goal of this research is to report a systematic literature review on the various methods of surface quality improvement used process of additive manufacturing.
