Design and Calibration a new Device for Multiple Cyclic Perpendicular Bending Moments
Abstract
Several mechanical engineering studied the varying on the load and its reason when the load were higher than the upper limit of the crack will be to start at the surface, above these situation failure is initiate to occur and called fatigue failure. Fatigue failure offers no warning in progress and occurs suddenly which lead to accident and defeat of live. There is no standard test rig it work under condition influence of the cycle loading such as multiple perpendicular cyclic moment experiments. This work was found to study the exposure of some mechanical parts, such as the bevel gear shafts with incline axes, to cyclic perpendicular moments, as there is no standard test device that works under the influence of multiple and perpendicular bending moments. This research is study the failure analysis and fatigue life of shaft under multi perpendicular cyclic moments, including the originality to design and structure a fatigue testing machine which is able to analyzed the fatigue life of specimens. The rotating bending is the type of fatigue machine by applied specimen which specialty to cantilever load. This device calibrated with standard device type (HI-TECH-HSM19Mk3). The tests had been done on this machine takes high rang of stresses and life. The results show the maximum percentage error of fatigue life for brass metal obtained from the standard device and the percentage error of manufacturing rig is (8%)
