Study of the structural, magnetic properties and Magnetoelectric effect of Rare Earth Doped BiFeO3 Multiferroic
Abstract
Present study papers the structural, magnetic properties and Magnetoelectric effect of Bi1-xRexFeO3 compounds prepared via solid state reaction method. Single-phase compounds were used to from bismuth oxides Bi2O3, iron oxides Fe2O3, and rare earth elements oxides La2O3, Nd2O3, and Gd2O3. X-ray diffraction (XRD) confirmed a cubic crystal structure of the LFO, BLFO specimens. while the GFO, BGFO, NFO and BNFO specimens showed that they had orthorhombic crystal structure, and the crystal size was observed that there was a convergence in the crystal size values for all Specimens under consideration. As the microstructure showed that the particles are well packed with very few pores for all the specimens. As for the magnetic properties, a strong relationship has between the magnetic properties and the structural distortion, as well as the residual magnetism that gradually increases as the concentration of rare earth components used increases. The results of the Magnetoelectric effect showed that with the increase in the magnetic field, all the compounds increase linearly and reach the maximum value, then decrease linearly with the increase in the magnetic field applied, and the increase in the magnetic field is due to the increase in electrical polarization resulting from the increase in magnetic stress, which leads to The magnetism reaches its saturation point, which is confirmed by the magnetic Hysteresis loops.
